I DAY

From 15.00 Check-in at Relais Mastrojanni. 5pm Check-in of the car at the Relais

Mastrojanni Relais is located in the highest and most panoramic point of the estate where the San Pio and Loreto farms are located. A place full of history, here in the Middle Ages there was a small fortified settlement to protect the most important communication routes, the Via Francigena and the Via dei Papi. The fortified stone walls are still clearly visible and create a unique atmosphere. The entire structure has been carefully restored, the rooms are welcoming, elegant and refined in design but essential and functional. The property has 11 rooms, including 5 suites and a wonderful panoramic swimming pool on the Val d’Orcia. Possibility to have dinner at the Il Campaccio restaurant to book in advance, and pay locally.

II DAY

Arrival at 9:00 am at Tuscany Equestrian. You will be offered a welcome drink, and you can exchange some opinions with the instructor.

Departure from the Tuscany Equestrian stables about 2 hours excursion in the magnificent Val d’Orcia. Saddle up and unsaddle by the staff but if you like, just come a little earlier to participate in the preparation of the horse. You will also have the pleasure of savoring the true flavors of the earth while fully enjoying its beauty and sensations. The chefs will be happy to prepare an exclusive picnic with typical products and homemade preparations, (you will have the opportunity to choose one or more bottles of wine from the well-stocked cellar). We have reserved for you, at the property, the use of a room (without overnight stay), offering you the opportunity to refresh yourself after the horse ride. Possibility, upon reservation, to dine both at the Tuscany Equestrian Extra Virgin restaurant, and at the I Salotti del Patriarca restaurant (1 Michelin Star), located along the way back to the Relais Mastrojanni.

III DAY

Tasting at Molino Val d’Orcia and visit of Bagno Vignoni.

Visit to the Molino Val d’Orcia, with a guide who will illustrate the secrets of pasta, starting from the cultivation of wheat up to stone grinding, as it once was. You will also enjoy a good pici dish, as in the best Tuscan tradition. (Please inform us in advance of any food allergies / intolerances to offer the best experience) Small and extraordinarily beautiful, the Borgo of Bagno Vignoni is located within the Val d’Orcia Natural Artistic Park. The Borgo of Bagno Vignoni is known mainly for the "Piazza delle Sorgenti", a huge sixteenth-century rectangular basin fed by a pure source of thermal water. From inside the village, walking along a small white road, which slopes towards the valley, you can admire the suggestive thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni.

IV DAY

V DAY

Visit of Cortona, from 3 pm Check-in at La Corte dei Papi

The center of Cortona develops around the Piazza della Repubblica, which overlooks the Palazzo Comunale. Do not miss a visit to the beautiful Sanctuary of Santa Margherita, patron saint of the city, and to the Fortress of the Girifalco. The beautiful Tuscan town was the scene of the famous film Life is Beautiful by Roberto Benigni. In the city there are several restaurants, mostly oriented towards traditional local and Tuscan cuisine (in the Valdichiana Chianina is bred, one of the most ancient and quality Italian cattle breeds, from which the famous Florentine steak is obtained). A few kilometers from the town of Cortona, nestled in a small valley surrounded by beautiful hills, it reclines the Relais La Corte dei Papi, an oasis of tranquility and peace for those who are looking for the truest traditions. The Relais La Corte Dei Papi is an old manor house dating back to the 1700s where ancient traditions and luxury come together to offer guests a wonderful experience of well-being and relaxation. Splendid Suites dedicated to wellness, an excellent gastronomic restaurant, and a warm and genuine hospitality will make your stay unforgettable. The villa is surrounded by a large park, full of flowers, olive and pine trees, at the center of which is the

VI DAY

Balloon flight

The expected arrival for passengers is around 6 am, the flight starts at dawn. The arrival and take-off times may vary according to the time of sunrise and weather conditions. Once landed, you can enjoy a picnic, where you will taste the typical Tuscan products. Children must be over 7 years old and must be at least 137 cm tall. If they are under 16, they must still be accompanied by an adult. Pregnant women or people who have recently had an operation cannot fly. Flying in a hot air balloon is a very safe activity. Our partner is a company authorized by the aeronautical body's official bodies to operate commercial flights in Italy and England. On average, the group is made up of 12 people. Life in Tuscany can also organize private flights for 2-4 people on request.

VII GIORNO

Demonstration of the production of pecorino cheese, visit of Pienza. 6pm Car Check-Out at the Relais Arrival at 10 am at Podere il Casale

Here is the authentic procedure for the production of the traditional Pecorino together with the owner and master cheese maker of Casale Ulisse. During the 2 hours of experience, Ulysses will guide you through the entire process: from the barn, to fermentation to seasoning. You will be able to see for yourself the first stages of processing a first salt cheese. Ulysses will be ready to answer all your questions while discovering this ancient art. At the end of the demonstration you will be offered a 4-course lunch with first appetizer, selection of cheeses, dessert, water, wine of our production and coffee. Pienza, a small charming village, is widely known as the "ideal" city of the Renaissance, the creation of the great humanist Enea Silvio Piccolomini, who later became Pope Pius II. The town is characterized by a complex of beautiful and harmonious palaces: the Cathedral, the papal residence or Palazzo Piccolomini, the Municipality, and the enchanting central square. We offer the possibility of a guide that illustrates the wonders of the country. At 6.00 pm the return of the car is expected at the Relais.
